Photo Workshop

September 7 - 13, 2008

As Autumn approaches we featuer a 5-day photography workshop lead by professional photographer Pam Barbour http://www.pambarbour.com.

Vistas are just beckoning for a photographer to come and take in all there is to capture.  Horses charging through dusty trails bordered by aspens and spruce or silhouetted against the rugged peaks of the Rocky Mountain Front are only a sampling of what we’ll be photographing. Horses splashing through shallow streams, reflections in nearby ponds and model-released wranglers riding the ridgeline at sunset add even more excitement to the photographic opportunities. Plus, there will be plenty of time for cowboy close-ups and scenic shots of this gorgeous and rugged Montana countryside.

Just when you think you’ve been challenged enough with our exciting photo shoots, we’ll be taking some time to learn some digital skills and work with Photoshop.  Bring your laptops and plan to have some fun as we look at techniques for editing and enhancing images. Still shooting film? That’s fine too, as we’re sure to learn some new field techniques and discuss digitizing film.  his is set to be an exciting week, a chance to challenge yourself to capture your own unique moments, whether you’re a beginner or an advanced photographer.

Accommodations at the Triple J Ranch include individual cabins with modern amenities surrounded by the lush wilderness. The lodge has a cozy fireplace, a grand eating area with an adjoining deck where you can enjoy the serenity of the wilderness. The atmosphere is relaxing, the family and crew are friendly and very accommodating and the food is always nearby. After a day in the field, you can unwind by the fire with a good book or just enjoy the smell of the fresh air and peaceful surroundings on your private cabin porch.

Our workshop will begin on Sunday evening when we will gather for dinner and then discuss the upcoming week in the lodge. The workshop will wrap up with a slide show finale Friday evening and departures on Saturday.
